Mounting doubts about further construction growth

Recent discussions with those in the construction sector highlight that labour availability issues are worsening.  The associated cost pressures are most acute around tradespeople and subcontractors.  In contrast, the industry’s capacity to meet demand for materials and componentry is generally good – with much of the manufacturing process heavily capital intensive rather than labour intensive, and the option to source product from offshore if necessary.
