Putting March’s weak export results behind us

Last week we saw March quarter GPD growth come in below market expectations owing to a weak export result. But, May merchandise and trade data provides us with more hope on the outlook for our export sector with prices for dairy, meat, and timber all on the rise. Coming up from a low base, we anticipate the volumes exported of all these three commodity types to increase in the next year.
