Less wiggle room

Last week the government opened its books for its Pre-Election Economic and Fiscal Update (PREFU), revealing that although the economy is on solid ground, their economic outlook is not as optimistic as it was in the 2017. This means that despite a bigger than expected surplus in 2016/17, the newly elected government will have less money to play with in their election promises.
