Uncertainty persists past polling day

Last weekend’s general election concluded without a clear winner or coalition, with NZ First’s Winston Peters holding most of the cards after the National Party managed to secure 46% of the vote at the preliminary count, against 36% for the Labour Party. The counting of over 350,000 special votes won’t conclude until October 7, with Mr Peters stating that no deal will be struck until this point.
