The flow of goods has changed since COVID-19

Initially, as COVID-19 spread across the globe and economies locked down, disruptions to international supply chains were caused by a lack of production as factories shut down. But with consumer demand having rebounded faster than predicted, shortages are now a result of the inability of production lines to keep up with this resurgence in demand. This situation has then been inflamed by a lack of freight containers. Previous articles have dived deeper into what’s causing these delays and their short-term inflation effects.
