The NZIER’s latest Quarterly Survey of Business Opinion, released earlier this week, made for grim reading. A net 75-77% of businesses experienced increasing costs and raised prices over the last three months and expect the same to occur over the next three months. These results were the highest since the mid-1980s, apart from pricing intentions, which was marginally lower than it had been in the first quarter of 2022.
